Tides of Annihilation allows us to play as Gwendolyn in a post-apocalyptic version of London and features slasher mechanics. Gwendolyn is able to summon phantom versions of the Knights of the Round Table and use their powers in combat.

Tides of Annihilation is an action-adventure game, heavily drawing inspiration from the Arthurian legends. It was developed by the Chinese team Eclipse Glow Games, founded by former employees of companies such as Sega, Ubisoft and Gameloft.

Story

Tides of Annihilation transports us to a post-apocalyptic universe, in which modern London has been devastated as a result of an invasion by creatures from another world. The main character of the game is Gwendolyn, who has the power to command the Knights of the Round Table.

The protagonist, burning with a desire for revenge, embarks on a dangerous journey through a post-apocalyptic world and the mythical land of Avalon, to defeat the demigods behind the attack and save her sister. The actions of the heroine will leave a mark on the fate of both realities.

Gameplay

Combat system and Knights of the Round Table

In Tides of Annihilation, we view the action from a third-person perspective (TPP). During the game we mainly engage in dynamic battles with opponents. On the battlefield, Gwendolyn must be constantly moving, launching accurate attacks, performing dodges and quick counterattacks, as well as linking moves into spectacular combinations.

The heroine is aided by ghost knights, whose power she can use at any moment. They were differentiated in of preferred weaponry, fighting style, and combat skills. At a given moment, we can have two such knights active, and the key to success is skillful juggling of their attacks and exploiting the strengths of each of them.

Locations and opponents

When exploring the devastated London and the land of Avalon, we face various opponents. Apart from regular mobs, we also have to face much more powerful bosses, whose defeat requires discovering their weak points and gaps in defense.

Among the bosses, colossal knights wandering around London are leading the way. In order to defeat them, Gwendolyn must climb their bodies, just like the hero of the game Shadow of the Colossus.
