Strategic game with elements of RPG from independent Polish studio Pixelated Milk, in which we command troops taking part in the Warsaw Uprising in 1944. The production is strongly inspired by the popular dungeon crawler Darkest Dungeon.
Warsaw is a strategic tactical game with RPG elements, the action of which takes place during the Warsaw Uprising. The developer of the title is the independent Polish studio Pixelated Milk, known for its classic tactical RPG like Regalia: Of Men and Monarchs, which was released in 2017 on PCs and consoles. Warsaw is an attempt to present the realities of the Warsaw Uprising, which is hardly recognizable outside of Poland, and which has not yet seen too many successful games based on its history. The greatest inspiration for the devs was the popular 2016 dungeon crawler Darkest Dungeon.
Warsaw takes place in the summer of 1944, during the Warsaw Uprising. During the game, we get to know the profiles of several fictional participants of the uprising, whose characters and history are modeled on the figures of authentic insurgents. It is worth noting that fans of alternative history should not count on a heroic victory of the resistance movement. The devs do not depart from the real events, and our efforts must ultimately end in disaster. The aim of the game is to present the fear and hopelessness that accompaniesd the participants of the fights every day, as well as their attachment to the cause and loyalty to their comrades in arms.
Warsaw is divided into several segments. The players decide about the course of the uprising and the fate of particular districts of Warsaw, providing the necessary resources for further fighting - we must decide on which of them we will focus the attention of our units, and which must be abandoned. Flights take place in turn-based mode. Our unit consist of many unique heroes, each of whom has its own story background, as well as a set of special abilities and attacks. Death of each of them is a blow to the remaining insurgents and a significant impediment to further play.
The characters use historically accurate firearms models as well as special combat tools such as flame throwers. The combat system is based on activating heroes' abilities, determining their combat positions, controlling stamina points, as well as the number of available ammunition. The key is to master these aspects of the gameplay, as well as the right skills.
Warsaw features characteristic two-dimensional visuals, using a slightly exaggerated comic book-like style, reminiscent of the work of Mike Mignola (the Hellboy series), as well as graphics in the Darkest Dungeon series.

The devs from Pixelated Milk informed that Warsaw, the turn-based strategy with RPG elements, taking place during the Warsaw Uprising - will be released with a month's delay. The official hardware requirements of the game have been released.
