Word Sudoku by POWGI

Word Sudoku by POWGI is an electronic version of the popular numerical logic puzzle Sudoku, which has been enriched with its verbal variant. Its producer is an American company POWGI (Puzzle on word games Inc.), which specializes in publishing mobile applications and console games based on well-known and popular word and numerical puzzles, such as Picross. The developer's games have been released primarily on the hardware platforms of Nintendo and PlayStation.

Mechanics

Word Sudoku by POWGI offers two variants of Sudoku. The first one is a standard and well-known version of the game. Each game board consists of nine rows and nine columns (eighty-one fields in total). All of them are divided into six squares of three by three. When filling in empty fields, players must consistently adhere to two principles: digits 1 to 9 appear in each row, each column, and each square of 3x3, and in each of these items (row, column, square) a given digit can appear only once. The degree of complexity of individual puzzles depends on the number and location of fields filled with digits. The verbal variant is similar, but digits are replaced by letters making up a nine-letter English word, such as "discovery" or "wonderful". In a single square there is a full set of nine letters, and the player's task is to fill in the empty spaces, paying attention to all the already completed cells.
