X4: Timelines

X4: Timelines features several different scenarios taking place outside the world of X4: Foundations. Completing missions unlocks various rewards, such as ships from various historical periods of the game's world, as well as additional missions available in the base game's "sandbox" mode. The expansion was designed to appeal both to new players and to experienced veterans.

Technical aspects

X4: Timelines is a non-standalone expansion, requiring the base version of X4: Foundations.

Update 7.00

Alongside the DLC, a free update 7.00 was released, introducing improvements, new functions and content. These include brand-new sectors, regions, ships and challenges, while the improvements include better camera and button mapping. The developers have also updated the designs of Teladian and Argon flagships and optimized the engine further.
