AMD Reveals Ryzen 5000 and Radeon RX 6000 U
After many weeks of waiting, AMD presented its new series of processors, the Ryzen 5000. Based on Zen 3 architecture, these chips are to beat Intel in every possible application.

After weeks of leaks and speculations, AMD revealed the Ryzen 5000 U series, based on Zen 3 architecture. All announced units require an AM4 socket and PCIe 4.0 interface. The company boasted that it managed to achieve 25% better energy efficiency compared to the previous generation.
The absolute top of the line for enthusiasts is R9 5950X, a 16-core 32-thread processor with a basic clock rate of 3.4GHz, increasing to 4.9GHz in Boost mode. The TDP is 105 W. The price? 799 dollars.
R9 5900X, a 12-core, 24-thread unit d as the top gaming U, operates at 3.7 GHz base clock, increasing to 4.8 GHz in Boost mode. According to internal AMD testing, R9 5900X is 7% more efficient than its competitor (i9 10900K) and 29% better than its predecessor (R9 3900X). The TDP is also 105 W, and the price is set at $549.

The only 8-core and 16-thread Us in the Zen 3 family are R7 5800X with a 3.8GHz clock (4.7GHz in Boost mode). The TDP is identical to that of the higher models and is also 105 W. AMD, unfortunately, did not boast about the performance. The price is 449 dollars.
The cheapest proposal from the new models is 6-core and 12-thread R5 5600X (3.7 GHz clock, rising to 4.6 GHz in Boost mode). TDP is quite low - 65 W. Zen 3 based "mid-range" offer will cost us 299 dollars.

At the end of the presentation, AMD shed some light on a mystery by showing the new top GPU from the RX 6000 series, and how much performance the top chip achieved when compared to R9 5900X. In Borderlands 3, at 4K resolution and ultra settings, "Big NAVI" delivers more than 60 fps (similar to GeForce RTX 3080), in Gears of War 5, 72 fps.
The release of Zen 3 units will take place on November 5, this year. It remains to be hoped that the debut will take place without major problems.
