Battlezone 98 Redux will hit PC this spring
Battlezone 98 Redux is the remaster of the 1998 Battlezone, a sci-fi mix of FPP action game and RTS. The game will be out on PC this Spring.
Rebellion officially revealed that the Battlezone remake they are working on is called Battlezone 98 Redux. This will be a straightforward remaster of the 1998 Battlezone, a successful mix of FPP shooter and RTS featuring battles of advanced tanks. The new version will sport HD resolution graphics, but otherwise will bring little changes to gameplay and content. This is of course good news, especially for fans who loved the original. We will be able to play through a campaign set in an alternative version of 1960’s, in which the USA and USSR wage a space war beyond Earth.
Other than the remastered visuals, we can expect some improvements in Interface, online multiplayer and for Steam Workshop mods. Big Boat Interactive, the studio working on Battlezone 98 Redux for Rebellion, includes three developers from the original 1998 Battlezone. The remaster will hit PC this spring – see its Steam page for system requirements and more info.

Next to this project, Rebellion is preparing another Battlezone, a VR remake of the classic arcade game from 1980. It should be released on PC and PlayStation 4 this year.
