Capcom Renewed Trademark for Deep Down
Capcom recently once again renewed the trademark for Deep Down, a game which enchanted gamers in 2013 with its phenomenal graphics. Could it be that the brand created with Sony consoles in mind is set to make a comeback?

Do you still Dark Souls series - only that with much prettier audiovisuals.
ittedly, it wasn't long before we learned that the game would be a mix of fantasy and science fiction, and that it will launch as online F2P title. Nonetheless, on promotional materials, Capcom's work still delighted the players.
Deep Down was created with PlayStation 4 consoles in mind and appeared to be a strong candidate for a systemseller. However, as we know today, nothing came of the developers' plans - the studio responsible for the game was dissolved and work on the game was cancelled.
At the end of 2019 it turned out that the project was not fully buried after all, and the Japanese giant who owns rights to the brand was said to be considering bringing it back in the future.
Recently, there was (another) spark of hope that Deep Down will eventually be "resurrected," for Capcom in early November once again renewed the brand's trademark - supposedly for the fourth time in its history.
This is interesting because I suspect that Deep Down's impact today would be rather small, after all, since the last published gameplay footage appeared more than nine years ago.
