Investors from the Far East acquired a 21% stake in the Polish company. They allocated the amount of $17 million, thereby becoming a strategic partner.
By the way, we heard from a representative of the Asian publisher that Blank.'s first project - a post-apocalyptic game, which was announced in May - is said to stand out from other such games even at this stage of work..
"The debut game by Blank. has a structure different from most games based on narrative. With its distinctive approach to the apocalypse, the experience will prove both refreshing and familiar to audiences, and there will be no shortage of intriguing twists and turns," Neowiz co-founder Seung-Cheol Kim announced in a press release.
Neowiz sees potential in the team from Poland to become one of the leading development studios in the world in the future.
"As a strategic investor, we see it [Blank. - editor's note] as a studio that has the potential to become a powerful contender in the field of AAA-quality games," Seung-Cheol Kim noted.
Blank. was established this spring thanks to the initiative of Mateusz Kanik, Jedrzej Mroz, Marcin Jefimow and Nikolai Marchewka.
The aforementioned men - in addition to Marchewka - have worked at CD Projekt in the past, co-creating, among others, Cyberpunk 2077.
According to the developers' announcements, their first project - with an undisclosed title - will focus on telling an exciting story in a post-apocalyptic world, and will focus on strong narrative.
