Copper Dreams is an old-school cyberpunk RPG from Serpent in the Staglands dev
Developers of Serpent in the Staglands announced their new project is cyberpunk cRPG Copper Dreams. The game will be a mixture of old-school mechanics with freedom of a 3D open world.
Creators of Copper Dreams, set in a dystopian island city of Calitana – ruled by merciless syndicates, it’s a place where people are sent to to relief the overpopulation. The game is going to feature fully three-dimensional world, with the ability of vertical movement e.g. climbing up a high-rise with a grappling hook or running on rooftops – the developers talk about “myriads of paths” through the city.
Despite featuring turn-based combat, each action will have its execution time, hence proper timing will be crucial for success. The weapons and ammo you use will also matter, just as well as the skills and cybernetic enhancements your party have. Besides, Copper Dreams will offer stealth mechanics allowing the player to mainipulate lights and sound so to stay out of enemies’ radar. Check out the official website for more info.
In order to realize their visions for Copper Dreams, Whalenought will need financial from the fans. A Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign will be held soon.
