Cyberpunk 2077 Devs on Video Game Development Process
In a recent podcast, CD Projekt RED developers – Philipp Weber and Miles Tost – have shared their experiences during the work on The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

During a Cyberpunk 2077 - shared some comments on the game development process and in particular on how the ion of individual team influences the work.
Feature Creep and Eredin's unknown story
One of the basic problems is the so-called Feature Creep, a tendency to enrich an early version of the title with additional content or features that cannot be tested and combined with the rest of the game. For example, The Land of a Thousand Fairy Tales in The Witcher 3 was initially only meant to be a solution that could shorten a certain task, and eventually grew into a separate plotline, ending with a boss fight.
It often happens the other way round - time constraints require cutting out whole sections of the game. Philipp Weber said that only 1/3 of the originally planned quests were eventually left in Wild Hunt, because at some point the creators decided to focus on quality and not quantity - choose only the best tasks and devote time to perfect them. Today we already know that it was the right choice because the quality of the side tasks in the last CD Projekt RED was widely ired by the critics, and the game still has enough content to provide dozens or even hundreds of hours of fun. That said, there were also some good and noteworthy fragments that had to be cut - for example, the developers planned a plotline that fleshed out the main antagonist of the game, Eredin. Unfortunately, it turned out that the scenario was too extensive for a single quest.

Will something be cut from Cyberpunk 2077?
The developers have learned a lot from the work on their previous title, but we can still be pretty sure that also in the case of Cyberpunk 2077 the same development mistakes are being and will be made. Everything because they are the result of ion and perfectionism, and the creators do not want to limit themselves and want their new work to be even better than The Witcher 3.
We will always make some mistakes, concludes Philipp Weber.
We would like to remind you that Cyberpunk 2077 will launch on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The release date of the game remains unknown, but we will certainly learn more about it during this year's E3 fair, as CD Projekt RED studio has already confirmed its presence at the event.
