Cyberpunk 2077 PC vs PS5 Visual Comparison
We are only hours away from the launch of Cyberpunk 2077, but we already have the opportunity to look at the visual comparisons between the PC and PlayStation 5 versions. What are the differences? What's more, the web was flooded with new gameplays.
In recent weeks, some videos and screenshots Cyberpunk 2077's graphics from trailers and gameplays on individual hardware platforms, but often the scene used for comparison did not entirely match, which did not reflect the actual differences between console and PC versions. Due to the release of the game, a more appropriate visual comparison of Cyberpunk 2077 was prepared. The editors of Video Games Chronicles focused on the PC and PS5 editions.
On released screenshots,Cyberpunk 2077 version on PS5 does not differ from the PC edition as drastically as one might expect. In the former, you can expect smaller crowds and traffic jams in Night City (crowd density can be adjusted on PC) and less advanced lighting and shading, and sometimes even complete lack of shadows in selected locations. Despite the obvious differences, the editors of the website are impressed with the visuals of PlayStation 5 version. After all, it's important to that the game running on PS5 is not a dedicated version for this console (a dedicated update will only appear in 2021), but only working in backwards compatibility. Cyberpunk 2077 supposedly works in 60 fps on Sony's next-gen console, but unlike the Xbox Series X edition it does not offer an additional visual mode.
Screenshots from the PC version were taken on hardware equipped with a 6-core / 12-thread Intel Core i7-8086K 4.0 GHz, 16 GB of RAM, and Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070. Cyberpunk 2077 was running in maximum detail with medium-level ray-tracing, which has a significant impact on scene lighting and shadow appearance. As a result, the PS5 version was immediately in a lost position.
