Several years of improving Cyberpunk 2077 are expected to help Switch 2 version avoid PS4 and Xbox One editions fate, says CD Projekt RED
The Switch 2's solid base and more modern components are expected to ensure that Cyberpunk 2077 on this console won't repeat the mistakes of the PS4 and Xbox One releases.

Cyberpunk 2077 on Switch 2 won't repeat the mistakes made by the developers on previous generation consoles.
The RPG has come a long way since it was considered a disappointment and failure for CD Projekt. Nonetheless, even after over 4 years, players sometimes criticize the quality of Cyberpunk 2077 on older consoles: PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The game on these devices, to put it mildly, left a lot to be desired.
Partly for this reason, some players had concerns about how Cyberpunk 2077 would run and look on Switch 2. The new Nintendo console is based on more contemporary components, which gives it an advantage over the PS4. Nonetheless, on paper, NS2 is closer to this platform than to PlayStation 5.
So it's no surprise that speculations and comparisons of C2077 on the second Switch with releases on other consoles (primarily Sony) quickly appeared.
Years of development and a faster disk helped the devs
Tim Green, an engineer from CD Projekt RED studio, was also asked about the game's performance on the new Nintendo console. In an interview with Game File, the developer mentioned that they are aiming for 1080p resolution in all modes except for performance mode in portable mode. DLSS has also been confirmed even after removing the console from the docking station.
Of course, the team has to make compromises, but this time the creators are making an effort not to stray too far from the "vision" of Night City. Besides, a faster disk is a big advantage compared to PS4 and XOne. The issues with loading objects and textures were one of the main reasons why players didn't love Cyberpunk 2077 on older consoles.
The years of updates and improvements developed by the CD Projekt RED team since the unfortunate release at the end of 2020 are also important. This improved "build" of Cyberpunk 2077 gave the devs a "solid foundation" to work on the release for the NS2.
Cyberpunk 2077 will hit Nintendo Switch 2 on the console's release day: June 5th.
