Dragon Age Developer Works on New Ambitious Game
Mike Laidlaw, former creative director of the Dragon Age series, will soon show the world what his new studio Yellow Brick Games has been working on for years.

Soon we will get to know the new game of one of the developers of the Dragon Age series. No, it's not about screenwriter David Gaider, but about former BioWare creative director Mike Laidlaw, who is one of the founders of the Yellow Brick Games studio. His team has now released a teaser for their first project.
The video doesn't give away much except for its fantasy style and three-dimensional world. Fortunately, individual pieces of information have been appearing on the developer's official site for a long time. The game will be an action-adventure title that isn't tied to any well-known brand.
Another thing is that 2 years ago, Private Division mentioned that it was to be an "ambitious action RPG." It's true that the boundary between these genres is quite flexible, but it is also possible that the concept of the title has changed somewhat during this time. The studio recently confirmed that the team's first game will be independently released in 2025, without the of PD or another publisher.
The website also states that the team's ambition was to "building digital playgrounds and memorable worlds, brick by brick." This clearly indicates an open world in the style of a "sandbox," emphasizing emergent gameplay. Just a reminder: it involves deg the gameplay so that apparently simple mechanics result in unforeseeable, "emerging" moments during the game.
It's also worth taking a look at the concept arts, which can be found on the website and on Yellow Brick Games' social media profiles. Of course, they don't disclose a lot about the developers' intentions for the gameplay (let alone its current form), but they provide some indication of the dev's concept.
We will learn more about Yellow Brick Games studio's first title on Tuesday, April 2nd. Exclusive details will be provided by an article from IGN.
