How to hide a weapon in The Precinct. Holstering a gun is tricky

As a policeman in The Precinct your top priority is not to kill suspects. However, sometimes you have to use a weapon. How to hide it though? Holstering a gun can be tricky.

The release of The Precinct is today. The game is awaited by many simulator fans, especially those who would like to play The multiplayer mode would probably help in this case, however, it is not planned. Nevertheless, these issues will probably not discourage many players, as it is a unique production and offers a few hours of good entertainment. If you are one of them, you may encounter a problem with holstering a gun. How to do that?

How to holster a gun in The Precinct

After launching The Precinct on PC, we are greeted by a window telling us that the game is better played with a controller in our hands. Even though I am a mouse and keyboard player, I decided to comply and grabbed my Xbox gamepad. However, very quickly I have encountered an issue – how to put away my weapon? I can’t go around town with a baton in my hand. I have to hide it! I could not believe that there was no option to holster a gun in this game. And I was right. After being lost for a little bit, I have figured it out.

  1. If you use Xbox gamepad, press and hold LB. It is an equivalent of the L1 button on PlayStation DualSense.
  2. If you play keyboard + mouse, holstering a gun is possible after pressing a Tab key.

Easy, am I right? If you stay in one place for a longer period of time, the prompt will appear with the proper button. However, in the game where you have to always go somewhere or apprehend suspects (often with a ticking clock), it is difficult to find a little bit of “me time” to stop and appreciate the view and city. Thet’s why the alert missed me for some time. Now we all know, though. Good luck and get those criminals.
