Iwinski Apologizes for Cyberpunk 2077's Condition; Next-gen Versions Delayed
CD Projekt RED revealed Cyberpunk 2077 roap for this year. Updates are a priority, so the releases of free DLC and the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions have been delayed.

CD Projekt RED published a video in which the company's co-founder, Marcin Iwinski, once again apologized for the disappointingly low technical condition of Cyberpunk 2077, especially on consoles. The most interesting part of the material, however, was the reveal of a roap for the rest of this year.
Iwinski informed that the free DLCs will be released later than expected, as fixing the game is currently the priority. The release of dedicated next-gen console versions has also been delayed - they are not scheduled to be released until the second half of this year. Let's recall that currently PS5 and Xbox Series X/S owners can play 2077 thanks to backwards compatibility, and the next-gen edition will be delivered for free as part of an update.
Already yesterday Iwinski turned out as they did. We can only hope that this time the company's management will fulfill their promises more effectively.
Iwinski also tried to explain how the disastrous launch of Cyberpunk 2077 on consoles came about. The developers' goal was to develop a breathtaking PC version and then port the game to other platforms. Despite the advanced age of the PS4 and Xbox One, this did not initially seem like a particularly big challenge. The devs it that they underestimated the difficulty of the task.
In the final stages of development, the game ran better and better on the old consoles practically every day, so the developers believed that with a final pre-release update they would be able to bring these releases up to par. Iwinski explains that the studio made the PS4 and Xbox One versions available to reviewers so late in the process because they were waiting for the patch to be completed, hoping it would provide sufficient improvements. However, this did not happen.
CD Projekt's CEO also stated that the studio is working with Sony to bring Cyberpunk 2077 back for distribution in PlayStation Store.
