Jason Schreier criticizes gaming media, which heavily distorted his words about „another GTA 6 release delay”
Jason Schreier pointed out to the industry media that they are scaring people with information about a possible further delay of GTA 6. The Bloomberg agency journalist grimly summed up their action.

A few days ago, Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreier thoroughly analyzed the industry's reaction to the delay of the GTA 6 release. He discussed, among other topics, the matter of a mysterious studio that recently chose to delay the release of its multiplayer game from fall 2025 to spring 2026.
Although the main reason for the delay was the desire to polish the game, the fear of clashing with the project of Rockstar Games also constituted a significant reason. Schreier noted that another delay of the launch would be not only costly for the developers, but also risky - there is no assurance that Grand Theft Auto 6 will 100% hit the market on May 26, 2026.
It wouldn't be a big deal if it wasn't for the fact that industry media immediately picked up on this last statement and completely took it out of context, using it in their news to predict another delay for GTA 6. This didn't escape Schreier's attention, who pointed out to them that they were misleading people (via X, ben). In a post published on Bluesky, the journalist ed a screenshot of a sample message from VideoGamer and a fragment of his own text. He accompanied everything with a bitter comment:
1) I write the two paragraphs on the left.
2) Bottom-feeding video game websites publish headlines like the one on the right.
3) Aggregators like Reddit and Google plaster those headlines everywhere, misleading countless readers.

It's highly unlikely that Rockstar Games will delay the release of Grand Theft Auto 6 again, although we can't completely rule it out. At least that's what can be inferred from the words of a former member of the American studio and co-creator of several games from the GTA series. Obbe Vermeij, the person in question, recently pointed out that revealing the specific release date of the sixth installment could indicate that the devs are confident they will be able to finish the game by that time.
