„Metal rusts, flesh adapts” Stellaris: BioGenesis is now available
Season 9 of Stellaris starts with its first episode, BioGenesis, which allows players to abandon classic metal ships in favor of something more natural.

Today, a huge new update to BioGenesis, also the first episode of Season 9, which allows the player to become a master geneticist and create fleets of living, biological ships. BioGenesis is the ninth update in nine years, with Stellaris releasing a major update nearly every year since launching in 2016. I only have to say nearly because two were released in 2018 while 2019 was skipped. This latest release has caused the game’s player count to shoot up on Steam to the highest point in the last six months, to over thirty thousand players, according to SteamDB.
New DLC for Stellaris, BioGenesis, is available now alongside the 4.0 update
Stellaris is a grand sci-fi 4X strategy game developed by Paradox Development Studio. Build an empire across a galaxy in single player or with friends. Players can compete or work together. Through the many hours of a campaign, you’ll encounter enemies, local aliens, and more. Paradox is an independent studio known for working on many other city-building and strategy games, including titles like Crusader Kings 3.
Paradox shared news of the DLC release on Steam, calling players to “step into the role of a master geneticist, sculpting the galaxy to your design with living ships, engineered ecosystems, and enhanced species. Forge new paths with unparalleled bioengineering tools to create a civilization that thrives on adaptability and evolution – or exploit these tools to dominate the stars.” A chilling phrase from today’s gameplay release trailer sums up the new abilities quite well: “Metal rusts, flesh adapts.”
Players will be able to start new games with three new origins. “Become what you eat” with the Evolutionary Predators, man bulwarks with the Starlit Citadel, or “play as a living, sapient planet with the unique Wilderness origin…” This new DLC also introduces a new crisis path in the Behemoth Fury. Strive to create an ultimate lifeform that can destroy whole planets.
Stellaris is for sale at a major discount right now on Steam and for the next two weeks, going for $9.99 rather than the usual $39.99, which helps make the DLC price of $44.99 more acceptable. Though, if you prefer, there is an option to go with a subscription model instead, set at $9.99 a month through Steam. With the way this game continues to get consistent annual updates, you won’t need to worry about getting more content.
