Nintendo Not For Kids; Report Confirms
Nintendo published a report summarizing the second quarter of the fiscal year. In addition to revenue, a lot of interesting information was also revealed, including game releases.
Nintendo's latest report is not only a financial summary, according to which the Japanese company has sold a total of nearly 93 million copies of the Switch console (slowly approaching the record of the Wii), but also a confirmation that the said platform is not aimed only at younger s. Additionally, the company shared the 2022 schedule of game releases.
The most interesting in the report seems to be the data on the age range of Switch owners who actively used the console over the past year. As it turns out, the largest part are players in the age range of 20 to 30 years, after which the number begins to decrease. The same is true of the younger Nintendo community - teenagers do not constitute a large group of s, so Switch is not necessarily a console for children
Moving on to financial topics - compared to the first half of last year, sales of Nintendo consoles decreased by 9%. According to the company, this result is due to the release of Animal Crossing: New Horizons, which took place in March 2020 and significantly affected the amount of devices sold. The next report may look interesting, and this is due to the release of the Nintendo Switch OLED, which will perhaps slightly increase the sales figures.
In turn, in the subject of games, in addition to boasting of the success of the so-called "evergreen titles" - games that are still popular among players, even though they debuted a long time ago (e.g., Shining Pearl, and Big Brain Academy: Brain vs. Brain.
