PlayStation Gamers Grumbling About Simultaneous Release of Helldivers 2 on PC and Console, Multiplayer Costs
Online shooter Helldivers 2 will offer a cross-play feature between PlayStation 5 and PC. However, console s don't like the fact that, unlike PC players, they will have to pay for the ability to play online.
It seems that, contrary to speculations, Helldivers 2 will not be delayed and will debut on February 8. This was confirmed by Sony when publishing the system requirements for the PC version of the game.
The developers also announced that Helldivers 2 will receive full cross-play . This means that PlayStation 5 console owners and PC s will be able to participate in the fun together.
Everything would be perfect if it weren't for the small print at the end of the post stating that PS5 s must pay for a PlayStation Plus subscription to use Helldivers 2's online features.
As you can easily guess, console players didn't like this, and vented their frustration in the comments section under the post. s of Sony devices complain that they are treated unfairly and, unlike PC s (for whom the only requirement is an active PlayStation Network ), they have to pay to play online.

"So PS5 players have to pay again for online gaming, while PC players, despite using PSN, don't have to do this," complains Shin-Ra.
"I also don't like the fact that we are still forced to buy PS Plus to play online, while PC s don't do this," points out KamikazeExpert.
"I'm glad I didn't renew my Sony PSN , after all this cross-play game, which I've had enough of. Focus on your loyal customers, not on other players. Enough," declares zombiematrix.
This, however, is not everything. Console owners do not like the idea of cross-platform play. According to them, clashes with PC gamers can be not only a threat to the PS5, but also take away all the joy of gameplay.
Among the opinions, you can even come across comments in which console players scold Sony for... showing them that Helldivers 2 will work better on PC than PS5 (an allusion to the latest footage from the PC version of the game).
