PS4 Pro Disappears From Sony's Store; Most Likely End of Production
PlayStation Direct will no longer offer PlayStation 4 Pro. All indications are that Sony has taken the device out of production.

IN A NUTSHELL:
- The PS4 cannot currently be purchased from Sony's PlayStation Direct store;
- The more powerful variant of Sony's eighth-generation console will not come back on offer, so the Japanese company has most likely finished its production.
The website of PlayStation Direct Sony's service allowing for purchase of PlayStation hardware directly from the company, currently operating only in the US) no longer offers PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 4 Pro. The situation of the second model is interesting as the product card says "We do not currently have a plan to re-stock this item in the future". This suggests that the Japanese company has quietly finished the production of the more powerful PS4 variant.
It is worth noting that the console was sold for $399 on PlayStation Direct. This is hardly a very attractive proposition, as exactly the same amount of money has to be paid for PlayStation 5 Digital Edition. In these circumstances it seems quite likely that the PS4 Pro will be withdrawn from sale. Sony has not commented on this so far.
It should be noted that it seems common sense to focus on 9th-gen rdware, especially given the difficulty of providing enough units of the PS5. A similar move has already been decided by Microsoft, which has finished the production of Xbox One X.
PlayStation 4 Pro appeared on the market in November 2016 - almost equally three years after the release of the base PS4 variant.
