PS5 Keeps on Pushing; Sales Reach Another Milestone
PS5 sales have reached another milestone. Sony is boasting the figures. It has good reason to do so, as they are significantly higher than those achieved by the XSX/S.

While sales of the Xbox Series X and S have slowed down somewhat, Sony boasted the number of units sold by PlayStation 5 by July 16, 2023. That's how we know that from November 2020 to that date 40 million PS5s eneded up in the hands of players.
How does this compare to XSX/S sales? Very well - at least for the Japanese, of course. In early July 2023 it was reported after all, that the Xbox Series X/S has shipped around 21 million units.
In addition, Sony released an infographic (below) showing the most popular games for the PS5. Forty titles are highlighted on it, but the presence of none of them seems surprising. Indeed, among them are hits such as Hogwarts Legacy.
The Japanese seem pleased with the result, all the more so because the release of the PlayStation 5 came at a time of the coronavirus pandemic, making distribution of consoles very difficult.
