s Report Many Problems With AMD Radeon GPU Drivers
AMD can't handle eliminating problems with the drivers for its GPU. Many s report bugs resulting in e.g. PCs crashing.

IN A NUTSHELL:
- AMD's GPU drivers come with serious bugs;
- This includes crashes when playing or installing drivers;
- The company has still not managed to eliminate the problems.
While AMD boasts the new features of the Radeon Adrenalin package, s of the Radeon RX 5000 series still complain about driver problems. Reports on this topic appear in the dedicated subsection of Reddit. The most frequently mentioned issue is the freezeing of PCs - the screen becomes completely black, the hardware stops responding and a reboot is necessary. According to experts from the Hardware Unboxed channel, as much as half of the s may be affected.
"Instead of bringing new features, you should be focusing your resources to drivers stability and a hassle free experience. I understand that RIS, Anti-lag & Integer scaling are great marketing points, and certanly great features, but the issues s are having, even after 6 months of the release of navi, will hurt you a lot more on future sales," reads a comment by viladrau.
Problems with the black screen apply to virtually all chipsets in the Navi family, but also to older cards (Polaris, Vega). Crashes most often occur in two cases - when playing or installing the drivers. In the latter situation the so-called pure installation with the help of DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) may help, but it is not always effective. Some s also suggest disabling hardware acceleration and uninstalling some applications (e.g. for overclocking, controlling RGB and even... antivirus programs - the latter is not recommended). Interestingly, some time ago AMD reported that the bug had been eliminated... but it seems that it was announced prematurely, because many s still complain about it.
Some customers describe other serious bugs, often also related to their computer freezing. Some cases (e.g. crashes with a green or pink screen) may suggest that the Radeons simply overheat. With some models of these GPUs, memory sometimes heats up to 100 degrees Celsius, which is certainly not healthy for the hardware in the long run.
