Sony Enters Strategic Partnership With Korean Giant to Conquer New Market
Sony Interactive Entertainment is launching a partnership with Korea's NCsoft. The partnership is to focus on the mobile market and „push the boundaries of gaming even further.”.
Today we learned that Sony Interactive Entertainment has entered a new partnership. The Japanese giant is starting a partnership with South Korean publisher and game developer NCsoft. According to the CEOs of both companies, this is a strategic move that will be used in "various business areas."
It appears that Sony is thus preparing the ground to try its hand in the mobile market. Indeed, the press release detailed NCsoft's technological potential precisely in the mobile gaming sector. According to Jim Ryan, CEO of Sony:
"The partnership with NCsoft s our strategy to move beyond consoles and expand PlayStation's reach to a wider audience.. Like SIE, NCsoft shares a similar vision of creating high-quality, impactful entertainment experiences for gamers around the world, and we are pleased to be working together to push the boundaries of gaming even further."
NCsoft's portfolio includes a number of productions specifically for mobile devices (including Throne and Liberty.
