This new version of the mod brings many long-awaited changes. The developers have finally figured out a way to add the ability to select multiple buildings simultaneously and give them the order to train units of the same type. There are also six new maps and hundreds of improvements in various gameplay elements, balance and AI.
Expanding Fronts is a project significantly improving and expanding the content of the original game. Thanks to it Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds now s high resolutions and 60 fps. The mod also removes virtually all bugs left by the devs and introduces an alternative architecture for multiplayer, enabling us to still play over the Internet (original servers were closed a long time ago).
Expanding Fronts also heavily changes the game's factions. Each of the basic ones was divided into several sub-factions, specializing in specific combat objectives. What's more all armies were reworked and enriched with new units and technologies.
With Expanding Fronts Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds becomes an excellent RTS that can satisfy fans of the genre as well as Star Wars fans alike. The game can often be purchased now for a few dollars, and with the mod it is a position definitely worth recommending.
