Steam s are Fed Up With Fixing Games Abandoned by Developers
Developers abandoning games on Steam are quite a problem for the players. The lack of updates is associated with bugs that, while usually only hindering gameplay, can also make it the game completely unplayable.

Players complain not only about the release of unfinished games, but also about the subsequent behavior of developers. The community on Steam is fed up with fixing games with mods simply because the developers no longer want to them. As ridiculous as it sounds, there are many such cases.
Bugs won't fix themselves

There are more examples
The problems with not fixing games don't just end with Civilization 6. Fallout 3, the PC version of which did not want to launch on his PC after all.
The player decided to deal with the problem himself - he succeeded, and then he created a tutorial on Steam. After some time, his solution stopped working, he fixed it, however Fallout still had problems, which discouraged the author from further efforts.
This particular story has a happy ending, however, in October 2021 Bethesda released an update, which removed the need for Games for Windows Live to play Fallout 3.
This does not change the fact that also Mass Effect Legendary Edition were in a similar situation. Both games needed community-made patches.
Also struggling with shortcomings that the developers do not want to solve are Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, which at one time faced considerable problems in with controls.
