S.W.A.T. season 9 canceled by CBS. It's rather final and a miracle won't happen this time

In 2017, the TVseries S.W.A.T. debuted on CBS, and over the years it has won over viewers, who have followed their favorite characters for 8 seasons. The latest one debuted in October 2024 and is scheduled to end in May 2025 at episode 22. After that, can fans expect season 9 of S.W.A.T.?

We have sad news for fans of the TV series, as S.W.A.T. has been canceled by CBS. Season 9 will not be produced. And while this production has been canceled in the past, with the decision later abruptly changed, it doesn't look like the situation will be repeated – it seems to be final (via Deadline).

Fans of the crime TV show should not expect a miracle similar to the one in 2023, when the production was canceled after 6 seasons, and then suddenly reinstated, as CBS changed its mind and announced the creation of season 7, which was to be the last. In 2024, however, it appeared that the production would live even longer, as season 8 was then announced. And it looks like it will indeed be the last one, as CBS reportedly refused to even engage in renewal talks.

So it looks like it's time for fans to say goodbye to the characters in S.W.A.T., who will be seen for the last time in May 2025, when the finale of the currently aired season is released.
