Some time ago, added a performance mode. Now, however, the first mod for the third installment ported to the old-school Sega console has been released.

This modification was prepared by Esppiral, and Falco Girgis, one of the creators of the discussed GTA 3 port, informed about it on X. What exactly does this mod change? It introduces textures and assets from the Xbox version of the game, which was released about two years after the PS2 version and 1.5 years before the PC version. In other words, it replaces the lower-quality models that characterized the PS2 edition with slightly newer ones, which look a bit better.

This means that now GTA 3 for Dreamcast has, among other things, improved vegetation and a redesigned hideout. You can see the new features in the video below.

The aforementioned Esppiral is currently creating another mod, but for GTA: Vice City on Dreamcast. This installment of the series will also unofficially appear on the console of a Japanese company. In this case, the character's hands, which currently lack fingers are on the table.
