Thief-inspired F2P Game The Dark Mod Gets a New Version

A new version of Thief series has been released. The update was numbered 2.10 and brings many changes and innovations.

1. Faster map loading - the devs have thoroughly rebuilt the level loading system. The difference is huge - loading now takes up to four times less time than before.
2. New, much more comfortable interface for selecting fan missions.
3. Improved code stability, especially in of the interface.
4. Subtitle finally added.
5. Improved mechanics of moving and manipulating objects in the game world.
6. Improved optimization.
7. Increased limit of objects on the map, which will enable adventure creators to prepare more complex missions.
8. The engine has been enriched with volumetric lighting.
9. Changes were introduced which will make it easier for map creators to place secrets.

Version 2.10 includes a better lighting system.

Also The Dark Mod's client has changed with the release of version 2.10, so you will need to it - the previous version is unable to update the game.

It is worth mentioning that version 2.10 is dedicated to the memory of Rand Phares, who was known in the community as "Grayman". The modder, who ed away last year, was one of the key people involved in the development of The Dark Mod - he was responsible for, among other things, the enhanced AI modules available in versions 1.02 and later, as well as developing the popular five-part adventure series that began with William Steele 1: In the North).
