The Witcher Season 2 Air Date Speculation; New Information Available
There is information about the planned deadline for the second season of The Witcher series, which gives hope for next year's premiere of new episodes. In addition, the teams responsible for digital effects have been ed by Industrial Light & Magic studio, known from films and series from the Star Wars brand.
Recently we informed that after a several-month break forced by the coronavirus pandemic, pre-production of the second season of The Witcher was resumed. On August 17, the shopoting is to be launched, and now Redanian Intelligence has learned that they are to last until next February. Of course, these are only preliminary plans and may still change.
If the filming is completed in February, there are good chances that the second season of the series will air in 2021. In the case of the first series, post-production lasted about 6-7 months, so the premiere of new episodes in the second half of next year, at the earliest in fall, seems plausible.
As far as post-production is concerned, it should be mentioned that the teams responsible for digital special effects have been ed by Industrial Light & Magic studios (known from Star Wars and Star Wars: The Mandalorian) and The Third Floor (Star Wars: Rogue One and Spider-Man: Far from Home).
It is also worth noting that according to these plans, the filming of season 2 will last about 8 months (including five weeks completed before the suspension due to coronavirus). The plans before the pandemic assumed that the creators will need 5 and a half month. Now the producers have booked more time, among other things, due to delays in production, which will result in actions necessary to provide actors and crew with safety on the set.
Let's recall that for the time being Arbofield studio employees are busy with pre-production. Teams, whose task is to prepare everything for the start of filming, including the completion of the set design, have returned to the set.
