Will Wolfenstein 3 Ever be Made? Job Offer Gives New Hope
Although the game about the adventures of Indiana Jones seems to be the flagship project of MachineGames at the moment, there is reason to believe that the developers have not stopped working on the Wolfenstein game as well.
It's been almost four years since MachineGames made the last Wolfenstein game - the coolly received Youngblood. So it is clear that many fans are looking out for the next installment of the iconic series. ittedly, it has been unofficially announced back in 2018, but since then we have not received any tangible information about it. Recently, however, clues have emerged that may indicate that MachineGames is indeed working on a new project about the adventures of Joseph Blazkowicz.
Journalists of Tech4gamers have found a job announcement, which was made available by the Swedish developer. We learn from it that MachineGames is looking for a senior animator who can boast "a ion for video games, especially immersive first-person games." In addition, the person should have "good knowledge" of titles from the studio's portfolio.
So why the belief that this could be about a project from the Wolfenstein series, rather than the Indiana Jones game, which MachineGames has been working on for several years now? As Tech4gamers rightly points out, the first-person mode doesn't fit very well with exploration-oriented adventures, which is what the game telling the story of the legendary archaeologist will most likely be.
Moreover, the developers are looking for a person with experience in animating "four-legged creatures or characters.". It must be itted that this is a rather general term, but it may evoke associations with Panzerhunds appearing in Wolfenstein (image below).
Some time ago on LinkedIn (via Indiana Jones game, MachineGames is also developing another, unannounced project, which could be Wolfenstein. Therefore, we have nothing left to do but to be patient and await a comment from the interested parties.
