Game remasters are released mainly on large platforms, but as the example of Metroid Prime shows, refreshed versions of titles from years ago can also be found on the Nintendo handheld. The original had its premiere some time ago, in 2002. The production was initially available on the GameCube console. Interestingly, the creators of the original from over two decades ago are behind the Metroid Prime remaster. And that's awesome. In the end, they knew best how to take care of their child.
Metroid Prime Remastered is a metroidvania, but in contrast to another representative of the genre Metroid Dread, in the Retro studio's game the action is shown from the first-person perspective. In addition to shooting enemies, we try to figure out how to solve environmental puzzles and test ourselves in platforming challenges. Over time, Samus Aran — the heroine we embody — becomes more and more of a badass. This manifests as being able to face more dangerous bosses and get into previously blocked areas. Besides firepower, armor, specifically the power suit and helmet, also plays an important role. This power suit allows transformation into a ball, so you can navigate through narrow corridors. The helmet was equipped with a visor, which allows, among other things, to discover the weak points of opponents.
Compared to the original, the graphics have undergone a significant refresh, no surprise. On top of that, the developers added a simple difficulty level and new control schemes.
