Turok Remastered

Turok Remastered, released for PC and XONE, is a remastered edition of a popular first-person shooter, Turok: Dinosaur Hunter, that originally debuted in March 1997 on the Nintendo 64 console, and was ported, several months later, to PC. At launch the title received high acclaim from both critics and players, offering unprecedented quality of graphics combined with open-world environment and realistic, for its time, 3D models of dinosaurs. The new version of the classic was created by the American developer, Night Dive Studios, who had been specializing in remastering classic PC games since 2013.

Story

The idea for the main hero came from the Turok comic book series, published in 1950s by Western Publishing. According to a centuries-long tradition of his people, the protagonist – a native American named Tal Set – serves an honorable duty of protecting Mother Earth from the dangers posed by the inhabitants of the Lost Land. In this primitive world, lying somewhere beyond time, different species fight one another – starting from prehistoric dinosaurs and all the way to aliens from outer space. Turok’s nemesis, the Campaigner, also comes from beyond Earth. He plans to use an army of modified dinosaurs to conquer the entire universe. In order to stop him, Tal Set has to travel across eight worlds, connected to one another with portals, and find the fragments of Chronoscepter – an ancient, very powerful weapon and mankind’s only chance for defeating the evil.
