Valhalla Knights 3 Gold is an expanded and greatly improved version of the third part of the three-dimensional cRPG series, allowing gamers to explore the original fantasy world and have fun in multiplayer mode. The game, which was released less than a year after the release of the original Valhalla Knights 3, is again the responsibility of the Japanese studio K2. The creators decided to introduce a number of improvements, which concern both the technical side of production and its gameplay.
The story of Valhalla Knights 3 Gold takes place in a fantasy universe known to people who have encountered the series before. Players create their own character from scratch by choosing one of several races, such as humans, dwarves or elves. Gold version adds two new, previously absent in the cycle - demons and angels. The chosen hero is assigned to a particular class, such as a mage, warrior or priest. The range of available specializations in the Gold edition has been additionally extended by five new ones, such as a revolver or a saint. We start our career in a huge castle-city, which is full of suspicious alleys and dangerous places. The fortress is our starting point, where we will rest before the next missions and buy appropriate equipment. There can be up to seven people in a hero-led team that we can create by ourselves or rent in the city. The company can also be ed by hostesses working in the amusement area, but first we have to build good relations with them by listening to their problems or participating in mini-games.
The three-dimensional world is observed from the perspective of a third person. During real-time battles against opponents, we can give orders to our subordinates. Winning against enemies we gain items, weapons and armour, as well as points, which we spend on the acquisition of new skills. Each member of the team has his own, randomly assigned character, influencing his s with the rest of his companions. The game has a multiplayer mode, which allows you to fight two seven-person teams of heroes in separate arenas. Duel winners receive points that they will use to purchase new equipment. It is also possible to play in cooperation mode.
The first version of Valhalla Knights 3 faced serious performance issues. Gold Edition removes too long charging times and accelerates the pace of the fight. It also improves the graphic design, changing textures and models and adding new locations. However, the developers have not changed the dimmed color palette, corresponding to the tone of the game, whose history revolves around the notion and meaning of evil.
