11-year-old Played Too Much GTA, so the Family Gave Him a Real Car

Putting a minor behind a wheel is not the best way to get rid of his gaming problems.

Interesting news is coming to us from the UK. A few days ago, Lancashire Police reported through their official Twitter that an 11-year-old boy driving a car in Lancashire City was stopped in one of the car parks. According to the reports, he was allowed to do so by a family member who was fed up with the fact that the child spent the whole day in front of a console, playing GTA. The person who allowed the kid to do so was reported for traffic offenses.

There is no doubt that putting a minor without a license behind the wheel is not the best solution to their problems with possible gaming addiction. The fact that the child's legal guardians, despite their age, allow the kid to play games intended strictly for adult audience also remains a debatable issue.

As you can see from the example above, gaming addiction among young people is a real problem. Back in January, we wrote that the healthcare in England introduced a curfew for minors who spend too much time in online games. This means that the players under the age of 18 are not allowed to play online between 10:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m. Moreover, they cannot exceed 90 minutes on weekdays and 180 minutes on school holidays and public holidays.
