Bongo Cat, a cozy companion with a developer who truly listens

Why do players love this simple game? Well, it has a cat, and honestly, that’s all it really needs. But there’s also something else worth mentioning.

While some of us are busy with desktop buddies popping up all over Steam lately, but there’s something really special about the developer’s dedication to making every single fan feel seen and heard.

More than just a Cat: The heart behind the bongos

The concept of this game is pretty simple – you get a Bongo Cat, a little friend to keep you company while you work, study, or play. It joyfully punches your taskbar every time you press a key or click your mouse, all while collecting points. With plenty of customization options and fun interactions, it’s a cozy addition to your screen that won’t be too distracting. Plus, it’s completely free!

Even for a low-key game like this, players have a lot to say. Discord and Steam are filled with everything from complaints to praise, and Marcel Zurawka, the developer, is right there responding to it all. And when I say all, I really mean all.

Want more achievements? He’s on it. A snarky comment about the game potentially being a crypto miner or keylogger? He’s there to clear things up. When someone pointed out ‘stupidly long achievements,’ he responded:

i agree, was more of a funny joke but i will reduce the achievements to 1million clicks, that's reachable, i saw a few people already achieving that

Then, just two minutes later, he followed up with:

removed them <3

Now that’s dedication. Bongo Cat’s charm isn’t just in its simplicity, but in the developer’s genuine care for the community. No wonder the game had a huge player base during its demo release, and after the full launch, it pulled in over 12,000 concurrent players in less than 48 hours.

Been with gamepressure.androidapks.biz since 2019, mostly writing game guides but you can also find me geeking out about LEGO (huge collection, btw). Love RPGs and classic RTSs, also adore quirky indie games. Even with a ton of games, sometimes I just gotta fire up Harvest Moon, Stardew Valley, KOTOR, or Baldur's Gate 2 (Shadows of Amn, the OG, not that Throne of Bhaal stuff). When I'm not gaming, I'm probably painting miniatures or iring my collection of retro consoles.
