Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 „is to jRPGs what Baldur's Gate 3 is to cRPGs,” says Dragon Age trilogy and Baldur's Gate 2 co-creator
The scriptwriter of the Dragon Age series praises Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, claiming that this game is like Baldur's Gate 3 in its sub-genre.

The recently released Baldur's Gate 2, David Gaider. He spoke very positively about the game from Sandfall Interactive on BlueSky.
According to the developer, the discussed game definitely stands out in the subgenre of jRPG, just like Baldur’s Gate 3 among classic RPGs.
I've been playing Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, and wow... so far, it's kind of to JRPG's what Baldur's Gate 3 was to CRPG's. It's beautiful and polished and well-written, and the turn-based combat is so fun!
According to Steam statistics, at peak, 121,422 people have played Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 at the same time. So far, Valve platform s have given the title almost 25,000 reviews, with a whopping 92% being positive.
The numbers clearly show that single-player games are still alive, despite what some influential people in the video game industry may suggest. Such a conclusion was shared by, among others, Swen Vincke, the head of Larian studio responsible for Baldur’s Gate 3, in one of the recently given interviews.
