Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 wasn't made by just 30 people. Credits „disprove” the popular theory
In the context of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, a very small team of developers is often mentioned. In reality, however, more than just 30 people contributed to the game's success.

This is made even more impressive by the fact that Sandfall Interactive is a small French studio, which managed to deliver a very good game. However, contrary to what was often said online, more than just 30 people were involved in the game's development process (via Rock Paper Shotgun).
More than just 30 people
Actually, in Sandfall Interactive, there are just over 30 employees, and some of them even had multiple roles in the game production process. However, the additional team responsible for "game animation" consists of eight Koreans.
Considering that the combat in Expedition 33 heavily focuses on flashy combos, dodges, and parries, the mentioned animations must be top-notch. It's safe to say that this team is largely responsible for the success of the game.
Besides, there are dozens of people responsible for localization, dubbing, or testing. We also cannot forget about musicians who worked on the phenomenal soundtrack.
This news isn't meant to diminish the success of Sandfall Interactive, which is undoubtedly impressive. However, it's worth noting that contrary to what is repeated on the internet, more than 30 people worked on Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. Nonetheless, the final outcome is what matters most.
Daniel Vávra is impressed
Daniel Vavra, the head of Warhorse Studios, which developed Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, also commented on the game. On X, he praised the title and highlighted the very small team responsible for level graphics.
Playing Expedition33 and it looks gorgeous. I heard, that it was developed by very small team. The credits say, that level art was done just by 4 people. If thats true, than I am mega impressed! The game looks fantastic like AAA title by giant team!
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is available on PC, PS5, and XSX/S. The game is on sale on Steam until May 1st, where you can buy it for $44.99.
