Cyberpunk 2077 is a Bestseller in Russia, Despite Not Being Sold
Cyberpunk 2077 is a boxed bestseller in Russia, even though you can't officially buy it there. This is due to a specific reason related to the game's distribution.

Cyberpunk 2077 may not have a particularly good reputation, but it is undoubtedly still a high-profile title. However, for a long time it has not occupied the highest positions on the bestseller lists. The exception is one country - Russia.
Russians love Cyberpunk
Data on game sales figures (in boxed editions) in individual countries were shared by GfK Entertainment. The company prepared the following graphic, which shows most frequently purchased games in selected European countries in the first half of the year.
Among them we can also find Russia, which definitely stands out. This is because it is the only one in which Cyberpunk 2077 climbed to the podium, and right to the top of it.
This is an interesting situation, because in theory since March this game cannot be officially purchased on the local market. CD Projekt halted sales of its games in Russia at the time. However, physical copies can still be found in local stores.
Stocks of boxed Cyberpunks may soon run out, however. The Polish game is selling so well in Russia that it beat the later released FIFA 22.
This information will certainly not please Russian gamers, who a few months ago executed a so-called review bombing of the game. As usual in such cases, their voice apparently did not reflect the general moods.
