Although DLSS 3 (reserved only for modern GeForce RTX 40-series GPUs) was unveiled some time ago, Nvidia has not forgotten to older versions of its technology. As reported by DSOGaming, the company has released DLSS version 2.5.1, which is expected to significantly improve graphics quality in some games.
One of them is Cyberpunk 2077. According to the information provided, the improved technology should significantly reduce visual artifacts and ghosting, as well as smoothen edges in high-contrast scenery. Another game that has benefited from DLSS 2.5.1 is Red Dead Redemption 2. This should reduce the effect of flickering objects when moving the camera.
DLSS 2.5.1 - how to install?
It is worth noting in ing that to see the above changes, you need to copy the DLSS file (which you will here) to the game that s it on your own. Fortunately, this is not a complicated operation. Just find the file named nvngx_dlss.dll in the folder of a given game and replace it with the one you ed. Before we do this, let's to make a backup first.
Let's also add that there are games protected by Easy Anti-Cheat (e.g. Battlefield 2042), for which, unfortunately, we will not be able to manually the new DLSS - in this case, you have to wait for official integration with a patch released by the developer. Also Red Dead Redemption 2's version from Rockstar Games Launcher does not have the possibility to change the files due to the verification process before launching the game. In contrast, the Steam version of RDR2 has no such problem.
