How to increase carry weight in Oblivion Remastered
Not everyone is a fan of carry weight limits introduced in some games. If you can't get over it in Oblivion Remastered, here you will find an easy way of dealing with it.
Bethesda is known for their quick release schedule, which usually happens soon after a game reveal. An example can be performance issues, yet otherwise it is a very well received production. The game is praised for being true to its predecessor, yet not everyone is a fan of those already ancient solutions, like for example the carry weight limit. How to increase carry weight in TES Oblivion Remastered?
The developers from Bethesda Game Studios ed by Virtuos have taken a huge burden on their shoulders by refreshing the beloved Oblivion and creating The Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion Remastered. When it comes to burden, though, many players complain about it, since the title has a lot of interesting items to pick up. How to increase the carry weight then? It’s quite simple.
Firstly, we’d have to enable an old-school console. Doing so is very easy – you need to click the “tilde” button (~) on your keyboard (right beneath the “escape” button). Now, to the command itself:
player.forceav encumbrance -X
Of course, you should substitute any number that your desire in the place of “X” in the command. It is important to use the hyphen, though. With that, you can make your inventory a lot more “elastic”, allowing for almost infinite carry weight.
Be warned, as using commands disables achievements. If that’s an important aspect for you, take that into consideration.
It is necessary to reenter the command from time to time, for example when you start the game. Although, if you are looking for a permanent solution, you can try out a Carry Weight Modifier mod that is available on Nexus Mods. It has its own caveat, as it relies on having lockpics in your inventory, as the weight limit is connected to them.
By employing those methods, you can pick every flower on your way through Cyrodill and do not worry about ever exceeding the carry weight limit. Have fun!
