Infinite open world and realistic graphics. This GTA 6 clone has only one major problem

Paradise XRPL is either a very ambitious Grand Theft Auto-style project or (more likely) a repeat of The Day Before.

Paradise (or Paradise XRPL) from Ultra Games has unexpectedly become one of the most anticipated games on Steam, even though many people have doubts about the project.

The title was announced in November 2024 as a free-to-play game with a release date set for 2025. Since then, the devs have posted many announcements (although not very extensive) and announced tests on Steam.

However, for now, the game has only launched on one platform, and it is not Epic Games Store, but the little-known GGEM. The title was scheduled to launch on Steam on April 2nd, but ultimately, only the mentioned tests happened (allegedly, as there is no information that anyone accessed the servers via the Valve platform), and the release date was updated to "coming soon."

Paradise is the first game of the Ultra Games team and a variation on inZOI, in the form of an advanced character creator.

GTA Scam?

It's possible that after this brief description, a warning light has already lit up in your head. After the information about "blockchains" appeared, many people looked suspiciously at the supposedly ambitious project of the Ultra Games studio. Too ambitious - just like the memorable "hit" from 2023: The Day Before. In of "hype," Paradise ranks 51st on the list of games most frequently added to the wishlists of Steam s (via SteamDB). The official game page states that the title is on the wishlists of more than 640,000 s.

However, the players' mood quickly deteriorated following the effective withdrawal of the launch on Steam and the release of the title on a niche site specializing in NFT token-based games (including Paradise). Already then, a few months ago, materials appeared trying to prove that the game is nothing more than a scam. The information on the official project website, which claims that "Paradise was number one among free-to-play games, with over 800 thousand players on all platforms," doesn't inspire trust in the developers.

Asset flip and community explosion?

Just like in the case of The Day Before, there were also allegations regarding asset flipping and license violations. In the trailer, "treats" like umbrellas directly from the GTA 6 trailer were noticed, and many other elements seemed to be "borrowed" from the default objects of Unreal Engine 5 or Grand Theft Auto 5. Now there has been a discovery in the form of a Ferrari car, even though the devs supposedly designed all the vehicles themselves (via X).

The creators have also published development plans for Paradise, although very general. Like the promises of a community "explosion," it was expected to have expanded considerably in recent days. This amusingly contrasts with the interest generated by the post itself (via X).

Perhaps Paradise isn't a scam, maybe it will actually be "soon available" beyond GGEM, and maybe it won't be a repeat of The Day Before. Maybe, but for now we recommend extreme caution. Especially when most of the gameplay materials don't look so fancy.
