Japanese Drift Master – Console (PS5, Switch and Xbox) release explained
Japanese Drift Master will be released on PC (via Steam, GOG.com and Epic Games Store) next week. However, if you are die-hard console player, I have bad news for you – the computer is the only platform on which the game can be played in the near future.
Right now, there is no precise information about ports for other platforms. On the official JDM Discord server, developers mentioned that they are focusing on the PC version. When they answer questions about consoles, “please follow the future announcements” respond appears. It suggests that Gaming Factory at least considers creating ports for other platforms. This scenario is also confirmed by Lead Game Designer – Wojciech Babinski. In a statement given to Traxion, he announced that porting process will start after PC release.
So, if we assume that Japanese Drift Master will be released on consoles, on what devices can we expect it? Of course, the highest probability is that it will come to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S. Switch and Switch 2 also seem plausible.
Releasing the game on PS4 or Xbox One seems unlikely as these outdated consoles are no longer in official distribution. However, on the other hand, new titles are still coming on these devices. So, who knows.
