Fallout-like Retro RPG Surprises With Combat Mechanics

New Blood Interactive has announced that its isometric RPG inspired by classic Fallout games will offer combat shown in FPP. It is expected to make the game more immersive.

Still Black Isle Studios.

Outside of battle, we will observe the environment in an overhead view. The method of transition between the two perspectives is presented in the video below, specifically its ending.

Undoubtedly, this is an interesting solution. Oshry explains the decision to implement it as follows:

Surely the biggest complaint about classic Fallout games has always been the slow n' clunky nature of the turn based combat. While we're still keeping things turn based, by switching up the style and perspective more akin to classic dungeon crawlers, we find it much more engaging."

In other words, New Blood Interactive has confirmed that the game will be a tribute to the classics, and not just a faithful copy like, for example, Thief.

At the same time, Oshry reassured RPG fans, Wastelands 3.

However, we still don't know much about the game itself - except that it is being developed and looks phenomenal. One can hope that this announcement from the developers is a harbinger of an official presentation.
