Sony Cleans Up After Japan Studio; Team Removed From List of Company-owned Studios
Sony has ended the life of Japan Studio, and is now removing remaining traces of it. The team has disappeared from the list of developers working for the Japanese giant.

Sony officially Gravity Rush was absorbed by a much less known Team Asobi. Now, the Japanese giant seems to be obliterating the remaining traces of the disbanded studio. The company disappeared from the list of developers working for Sony.
The place of Japan Studio was taken by the previously mentioned Team Asobi. This change is the proverbial nail in the coffin of the disbanded team. The group, which began developing games in 1993, went has become history. Some of the most famous employees of the studio left even before its closure. Among them is Keiichiro Toyama known for his work on the Silent Hill series. He founded his own team called Bokeh Game Studio, which will release its first game in 2023.
This is the end of the 27-year history of the studio, which was responsible for a number of varied games. The last title, which the developer had a hand in creating, was the remake of Demon's Souls, which was very well received by fans (Japan Studio assisted the team at Bluepoint Games). Employees of Japan Studio, who have not left the Sony family, will now most likely Team Asobi in creating a completely new IP. The studio is working on a series that will take years to develop.
