Original news (April 30, 8:58)

There is no doubt that The game has sold one million copies in just three days after the release, and the sales don't seem to be slowing down at all. This is evidenced by the sold out physical versions of the game in many stores around the world.

Expedition 33 is sold out

As reported by X s, sellers in their places of residence are not accepting further orders for the game, as it has completely sold out. For example, Australian dataminer, modder and informant Lance McDonald reported that the game disappeared from the offer of all retailers in Australia and will be available again at the earliest by the end of May.

Such a situation greatly surprised Sandfall Interactive studio, which did not expect their work to achieve such a great success. Because of that, they haven't prepared a sufficient number of physical copies. Fortunately, the developers are aware of the problem, as confirmed in the official announcement.

We are aware that we have sold out of physical editions at various retailers.

Our distribution partners are looking into re-stocking! Sorry, the demand has been higher than expected in many regions.

Further development of the brand

It's been a few days since the release of Expedition 33 and some players have managed to complete the game. So it's no wonder that some people started wondering if the devs plan to further develop the brand.

The main scriptwriter of Sandfall Interactive, Jennifer Svedberg-Yen, recently answered various questions on her Instagram profile. One of the players asked her about a potential expansion or sequel and, as it turns out, the chances of them happening are not small at all.

Nothing concrete that I can say at the moment, we’re honestly still just trying to process everything that’s happening. It’s been a lot to take in!

We’ve always said if there is strong desire from the players that we would love to do something more, and based on the responses so far, I’d say chances are good.

It's hard to be surprised, considering how many people fell in love with the work of this French studio. Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is currently the highest-rated game of the year according to Metacritic. The players also gave it extremely high scores - the average is 9.7/10. Only a few productions can boast such a result.
