Star Wars: Rogue Squadron Could Appear on New Platforms, Depending on Fans
The good old Star Wars: Rogue Squadron series could debut on new platforms. The possible refresh of the games will be handled by Aspyr Media.

- One Twitter asked Aspyr Media if they will prepare ports of Rogue Squadron for other platforms;
- The company did not deny it, stating that it all depends on the fans;
- One of the developers of the mentioned games also ed the conversation.
Aspyr Media is a company that is known for releasing ports and remasters of older games. Recently they are often associated with the Star Wars franchise.
Suffice it to say that thanks to Aspyr Media Nintendo Switch saw the release of such hits as Star Wars: The Force Unleashed. The list may grow even longer, as heralded by a post published by the company.
It's all up to the fans
Twitter Sam Schumacher asked Aspyr Media Star Wars: Rogue Squadron series, whose roots go back to the 1990s.
A few hours later he received a rather ambiguous answer. The company asserted that Star Wars games that will be taken into depend only on the fans. If they let it be known that they are interested in a particular title, then Aspyr Media will take care of it.
Rogue Squadron director s the discussion
Interestingly, the discussion about the return of Rogue Squadron didn't end there. In fact, Julian Eggebrecht, who is one of the creators of the original game, ed the exchange.
He stated that the title to be considered is Star Wars: Rogue Leaders. We are talking about a never released game which was a remaster of the second and third installment of Rogue Squadron, enriched with new levels.
The game was created for the Wii console and was almost finished. Unfortunately, players did not have the opportunity to test it. The game was not released due to legal issues at the time of the acquisition of the Star Wars brand by Disney.
Of course, releasing a game that was abandoned years ago is not an easy task, so fans of the series should not pin their hopes on it. We may, however, live to see the re-release of the classic Rogue Squadron trilogy.
Nevertheless, for now these are only speculations based on a rather vague tweet from Aspyr Media. So we should not treat it as binding.
