Switch 2 Welcome Tour should definitely be free. We all know that - except, apparently, Nintendo
Switch 2 is almost here, and I think we can all agree it’s definitely worth the hype. But some of Nintendo’s recent decisions? Not so much.

I think everyone’s had some time to cool off after yesterday’s Nintendo Direct and the big Switch 2 release date reveal. They didn’t say when Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour.
Why isn't Switch 2 Welcome Tour free?
Looks like at least 10 more.
But even with all the good stuff to talk about, there are definitely some questionable decisions. I think we can all agree that Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour should be a freebie packed in with the console – just like how Astro’s Playroom came with the PS5.
Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour is not even a game, it’s a tech demo that shows off all the new features and helps us understand how Switch 2 works. We get to explore the console and play through mini-games, so it should totally be a free, pre-installed content on every Switch 2 – kind of like how they did with Wii Sports, right?
The Nintendo Wii came with Wii Sports bundled in most regions, and it was a huge part of the Wii’s success. It gave us a chance to try out motion controls with fun, easy games like bowling, tennis, and boxing. I mean, how could they not want to do the same with the Switch 2?
But it’s not just this that’s alarming. If you look a little closer, it seems like getting a Switch 2 on launch day might be pretty tough. The bundle with Mario Kart World comes with a digital version, which is a first for Nintendo. And have you seen the price of Switch 2 games? That joke about GTA VI costing over $100 is getting closer to reality every minute.
