According to Take-Two CEO, GTA 6 release will be the biggest event in industry's history. Strauss Zelnick sees huge potential in PC port
Take-Two Interactive's chief executive, Strauss Zelnick, isn't worried about falling PS5 and Xbox Series X/S sales. He said GTA 6 will significantly increase demand for these consoles.

The highly anticipated by gamers GTA 6 is soon to launch. Console developers, who have been experiencing a decline in sales lately, are also eagerly anticipating the release of this game from Rockstar Games studio. According to Strauss Zelnick, the head of Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of "Rockstar," it will "significantly increase" in 2025.
GTA 6 is expected to be released in the fall. Zelnick believes that the release of the title will be the most significant event in the entertainment industry's history, leading to higher demand for the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. Thus, many people will enter the current generation of consoles for the first time.
The Take-Two boss also mentioned in a conversation with IGN that big titles always "sold" consoles.
When you have a big title in the market and we have many of them coming, historically that has sold consoles. [...] I think there will be a meaningful uptick in console sales in calendar 25 because of the release schedule, not just coming from us, but coming from others. [...] So I'm not concerned about that [console sales falling]. I think the trend that you'd want to focus on is this increasing share of the market that is reflected in PC.
The issue of the growing share of PCs raised by Zelnick is interesting. As the businessman points out, ports of games for personal computers can for up to 40% of total sales revenue. All the more surprising is the decision of Take-Two Interactive and Rockstar to skip this platform for the release of GTA VI (the title will be released on PC at a later date).
The CEO of Take-Two also underlined that PC is playing an increasingly important role in the "console business." It's enough to mention such services as Microsoft's PC Game or Sony's exclusive titles released for PCs.
