Xbox Series X - Halo Limited Edition Fell Prey to Scalpers
Limited Halo edition of the Xbox Series X console fell prey to scalpers. Heavily overpriced offers on pre-purchased hardware appeared on auction websites.

During Tuesday's Xbox Gamescom 2021 showcase, Microsoft unveiled the limited Halo edition of Xbox Series X (see trailer below). Almost immediately, pre-orders could be placed for the hardware. Unfortunately, it looks like many pieces of the console ended up in the hands of scaleprs and landed on online auctions with greatly inflated prices. Officially, the console was to cost $550, while scalpers offer it for 900, 1000, or even 1500 bucks.
The saddest thing in this situation is probably the fact that for this type of offers does not suffer from a lack of attention - even those more expensive. An analogous procedure is taking place in the case of pre-sold Halo Series 2 Elite controllers, which officially cost $200, and now are being offered for at least 280 dollars. It should be noted that the version of the controller inspired by the armor of Master Chief is also included in the discussed limited edition console.

Both devices will officially debut on November 15, 23 days before the PlayStation 5 or graphics cards.
