Ubisoft's Star Wars – Massive, don't ruin this

- Announcemed in: 2021
- Genre: TBA / open world
- Developer: Massive Entertainment / Ubisoft Massive
Two years ago we learned that Ubisoft is preparing its own game in the Star Wars universe. The good news was that the Star Wars brand was finally released from Electronic Arts' basement, where it was fed only Battlefronts, and became available to other major publishers, creating huge potential. It's bad that the project was still in its infancy at that time, and in fact, we don't know anything specific about it except that the creators of The Division are behind it, and that it's supposed to be open-world. The latest reports suggest that work is apparently going smoothly enough and the potential premiere is not so far away – it's expected to take place this financial year, which means by March 2024 in human language. It sounds almost too good to be true, but if it really is the case, then Ubisoft Forward Live will be a good opportunity to start informing players about what they can expect.
Anything new/nostalgic from Ubisoft
And if not Star Wars, then it would be nice to see Ubisoft in shape again working on a new, interesting project or the return of a known brand. One thing can't be taken from this company – they know how to enchant players with new ideas – as was the case with Watch Dogs or Tom Clancy's The Division – they also have a knack for creating extraordinary, engaging worlds, especially large metropolises. At the same time, they own rights to many dormant IPs. It would be a nice time to show something really interesting and amazing – maybe the first clips from the Splinter Cell remake? Or anything that won't be another online shooter/GaaS/battle royale. The Ubisoft Forward Live trailer even suggests that there may be such a mysterious announcement at the end!
